1860s Antique Cotton Doll Petticoat w/ Hand Crocheted Rose Lace Trim Ivory White

This is an antique doll’s petticoat from about the 1860s. It has the ivory patina typical of a garment that is 160+ years old. It was likely made of a much older petticoat that a child’s mother or family had worn through, and found a second life on an antique doll. The trim is exquisitely hand micro-crocheted out of cotton with a crochet hook as tiny at the tip as a needle; the trim simulates circles or roses. There is some rust colored discoloration spots on the front and back. There are a few small homes and tears. The photos are the best indicator of imperfections. This petticoat is very wearable and serviceable for an antique doll display. The waistband closes in back with an antique white glass button and hand worked buttonhole. It was taken in by hand in two places to make the waist smaller, but could possibly be let out again for a chunkier doll. Measurements are in the photos (see the yellow ruler). The sturdy band fits about a 11.5” doll waist.
